The plug valve is a type of quick switch through valve because it may entirely prohibit contact with the flow medium by moving between the sealing surface with wiping action and fully open, making it typically employed for media with suspended particles. Its simplicity of multi-channel construction adaptation means that a valve can easily gain two, three, or even four separate flow channels. This makes piping design easier and lowers the quantity of valves and connections needed for equipment.
The following four considerations should be taken into consideration when installing the plug valve in order to protect it from harm and ensure that it performs to its maximum potential:
1. Make sure the valve is open. Heat the pipe first. Transfer as much heat as possible from the pipe to the cock valve. Avoid extending the heating time of the plug valve itself.
2. To make the metal surfaces of pipes and cut sections shine, clean them with gauze or a wire brush. It is not advised to wear steel velvet.
3. First, cut the pipe vertically, burrs should be trimmed and removed, and the pipe diameter should be measured.
4. Flux the inside of the weld cover and the exterior of the pipe. The weld surface needs to be thoroughly covered in flux. Please be cautious when using flux.
